In a function organized by Triveni Sahitya Sanskriti Kala Akademi in Kolkata, Dr. Bhatia received this honor from the Director of Indian Language Council, Dr. Shambhunath provided. On this occasion Dr. Ashok Bhatia gave a detailed statement on the contribution of short story to Hindi and its future. It is noteworthy that in the field of short story Dr. Bhatia has put 14 books of composition, criticism and editing in the bag of literature. His short story book Darkness Mein Aankh has been published in Marathi and Tamil also. Dr. A short film has also been made on Bhatia's inner truth short story. Awarded and honored by the literary organizations of Haryana Sahitya Akademi including Raipur, Hyderabad, Shillong, Patna, Delhi, Jalandhar, Amritsar etc. Bhatia is constantly active in the field of short stories.</p>",

He was born in Saketa in northern India which is also known as Ayodhya. <br />He is believed to have been the first Sanskrit dramatist, and is considered the greatest Indian poet prior to Kālidāsa.
